January 19 2024: Leading rapid electric vehicle charging network, InstaVolt, is launching its latest rapid EV charging site at the end of January.

Two ultra-rapid chargers, will be activated at N1 Reykholt Service Station, next to Bjarnabúð convenience store, near the village of Reykholt which is known for its history and culture.

A further two ultra-rapid chargers will be activated at Hotel Siglo, Siglufjordur. The town is known for being Iceland’s northernmost town and has a rich fishing history. Both sites are powered by 100% renewable energy provided by HS Orka.

The move follows InstaVolt’s recent successes in Iceland. It opened the country’s largest EV charging hub – with 20 chargers –  in June 2023 at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel just five minutes from Keflavik Airport and late last year energised four ultra-rapid chargers at Fridheimar Tomato Farm.

InstaVolt, which has a reputation for reliability and ease of use, with payment by contactless debit or credit card, has plans for a further 300 installations in Iceland over the next two years.
